The films used here currently are Artistic TZ and Fade to Black (F2B) from Polapremium.

The Fade to Black film continues to develop after exposure, "fading to black" after several hours. the process can be stopped at anytime along the way by removing the front of print from the chemical backing or scanning the print at various stages as the image darkens.

I'm still experimenting. I like the contrast and it favors muted green and blue colors. This film appears to be bringing out my dark side.

Art Incarcerated

Maximum security prison inmates photographed on a recent assignment to photograph "gang" tattoos. I was not allowed to show their faces. Participation was voluntary and the men were cooperative and pleasant for the most part. But I got a really bad vibe from 100% Honkey, the white supremest. I shot three frames and told him "thank you. I'm done." I wasn't trying to be judgemental, just didn't feel the love.

I captured these images on a recent assignment to a maximum security prison to photograph gang tattoos. Not all tattoos are gang related but still tell a story. Unfortunately, I was prohibited from showing faces.

The Shoe from Peru

Gethsemani

On a visit to the Abbey of Gethsemani in Trappist, KY, rosary beads hang in the window of a prayer shack along a meditation trail through the woods, away from the main grounds. I imagine Thomas Merton walking the same path many years ago.
